Creating cards, playing cards and enjoying these beautiful summer days.
July has been a month filled with all kinds of things and all kinds of weather. On the nasty stays I stayed indoors and played cards with friends and created a variety of cards.
I tried my hand at making faux metal backgrounds and was amazed with the plethora of backgrounds I was able to create. This is one of the cards that I completed. I love the way it turned out.
I thought I would enter it in the Simon says: Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge.

It's a Boy!
June 6, 2017
It has been a good week as I have happily making baby cards. When I saw Karren's sketch 293, I thought my card for my friend's first grandson would be perfect. I hope you agree. Thanks for dropping by. Joann

CREATING ALL OCCASSION CARDS

This is the new sketch designed by Linda at Freshly Made Sketches.
It is a new year and I am excited to have my fledgling blog up and my first entry in a card challenge.
Wishing everyone a 2017 filled with adventure, love and laughter.
Thanks for dropping by.
Take care,
Joann
I am excited to share my card with you. I look forward to any comments that you wish to leave for me.
Materials I used:
Cardstock: Midnight Blue, Whisper White, and a pre -embossed white cardstock Stamp: Hello (2000 Stampin Up)
Ink: Stazon Cotton White Accessories: navy cotton sewing thread, Creative Time jewel, Creative Time die
The three butterfly 1 ½” x 4 ¾” cardstock strip is from the negative space left by the butterfly die cuts that I used for another card. I glued a piece of Stampin Up midnight blue cardstock on to the back and filled the negative space with glitter glue then added snippets of coloured foil to each butter fly.
The navy thread, is wound several times around the card to add more navy to the card. A piece of embossed white piece of cardstock was then added and to it I added a stitched square of Midnight navy cardstock and stamped the Hello in Stazon Cotton White.Saturday, 7 January 2017

My Book challenge for 2017 at Goodreads
My Book challenge for 2017 at Goodreads is to read 100 books.
I think it may be a challenge but I love to read and I am a quick reader so I think this will be a doable. I guess I'll see. It is the fifth day of January and I have completed 2 books.
Book 1 - Sweet Tea Revenge, Laura Childs (293 pages)- Started and finished January 1, 2017
I find these books an easy read. This one did not disappoint as it was entertaining as always.
The recipe for the peach scones was delicious. Moist and tasty and not too sweet. Even Lionel liked them.
I plan to make the steeped tea chicken and PB scone recipes this week.
Book 2- The Lucifer Code, Michael Cordy (441 pages) - Started January 2 -completed January 4, 2017
This book was an interesting read. At what point do science and religion meet or do they?
Yesterday I picked eight books to read from the library. So, the current book three has been shuffled on down the line, as I am now reading Writing All Wrongs, from the 'A Book By the Bay Mystery' series by Allery Adams.
January 7, 2017
Book 3 - Writing All Wrongs, Ellery Adams (274 pages)
Book 4 - Murder in the Mystery Suite, Ellery Adams (277 pages)
Book - I'll See You In Paris, Michelle Gable ( 378 pages)
